How It All Started
Bijou Greens was born from a simple belief: everyone deserves access to truly fresh, nutrient-dense food — no matter where they live. Founded by Cindy in Wallington, New Jersey, what started as a small kitchen experiment with a few trays of microgreens quickly grew into a mission to bring clean, locally grown greens to families across North Jersey.
After years of searching grocery stores for produce that actually tasted fresh, Cindy decided to grow her own. She discovered that microgreens — tiny vegetable greens harvested just days after sprouting — delivered extraordinary flavor and up to 40 times the nutrients of their mature counterparts. That discovery changed everything.
How We Grow
Every tray of Bijou Greens microgreens is grown indoors at our clean, controlled urban farm in Wallington, NJ. We use only organic seeds, filtered water, and natural light — never pesticides, herbicides, or synthetic chemicals of any kind. Our growing process is simple and intentional: seed to harvest in 7 to 14 days, and from our farm to your door within 24 hours of harvest.
That means you are not getting microgreens that have spent days on a truck or wilting on a store shelf. You are getting living greens at their absolute peak of freshness, flavor, and nutrition.
What Makes Us Different
Unlike mass-produced greens shipped from hundreds of miles away, Bijou Greens are hyperlocal. We currently deliver throughout Bergen, Passaic, Essex, and Morris counties — and we harvest your order the same day it ships. Every container is hand-packed with care, and our customers consistently tell us the difference is obvious from the very first bite.
We also offer hands-on microgreens workshops for kids and adults at community centers across North Jersey.
